Wade Barrett Memorial Fund

Specific Need

Since 2014 the Wade Barrett Memorial Fund has provided swaddles for each baby born at Newman Regional Health.  Starting in 2016 the fund also began providing portable cribs to families who attended the Lyon County Community Baby Shower.  100% of our proceeds are used to fund the Swaddle Program and the Community Baby Shower.

Mission

Our mission is to provide education and safe sleep tools to families residing in Lyon County and surrounding areas in hopes of decreasing the instances of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and infant mortality.

Profile

The Wade Barrett Memorial Fund was established in 2010 in memory of Wade Thomas Barrett, who passed away from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) on June 24, 2010 at the age of 3 months.  The fund has now raised over $150,000 which is used locally for SIDS education and safe sleep tools.
